Reduce Consumption : Produce Locally

ASPO Ireland News

Submitted by Colin Campbell on November 19, 2005 - 10:31am.

Week ending November 19

We made progress in the registration of ASPO (Association for the Study of Peak Oil)Ireland as a legal non-profit entity.

Work continued also on preparing a new model of depletion with a standard set of graphs for each producing countries. We just finished Europe, Africa will be next. The model will be used for the 2005 update which will be made when the new production data arrives in December.

Interviews were granted to two film crews: one, A Swiss concern is making a film on Peak Oil; and the other, working for Irish Television, is assessing the impact of Peak Oil on agriculture.
An interview was also granted to Dow Jones.

Also a paper was produced for Energy Politics.
Sundry queries from academic researchers were dealt with along with routine e-mail traffic.
